Ranked the number one agricultural institute in Europe and number two in the world, INRA carries out mission-oriented research for high-quality and healthy foods, competitive and sustainable agriculture and a preserved and valorised environment. In aquaculture, INRA has internationally-recognized teams in fish physiology, nutrition, genetics and pathology, with more than 400 peer-reviewed papers in the last 5 years.

In AQUAEXCEL, INRA puts forward the main two infrastructures of its Aquaculture Experimentation Platform:

1. PEIMA which is the main salmonid experimental station in France, and one of the largest in Europe. PEIMA is dedicated mainly to trout genetics and physiology, and interaction between those. For more information please click here.
2. INRA St Pée Infrastructure which is a unique set of installations devoted to nutrition research in freshwater salmonids, including two experimental trout farms with different temperature conditions (7 and 17°C), an experimental feed processing unit and digestibility tanks.
