In the field of aquaculture, INRAE has leading teams in fish genetics, pathology, nutrition and physiology (ca. 100 scientists altogether).
Role in the AQUAEXCEL3.0 project:
INRAE will coordinate the project, offer access to four unique installations dedicated to all aspects of rainbow trout research (nutrition, physiology, pathology, genetics and genomics, behaviour), and leads WP5 and 7.
Key persons involved:
Dr. Marc Vandeputte is the coordinator of aquaculture research in INRAE and coordinated both FP7-AQUAEXCEL and AQUAEXCEL2020 projects. Marc works on fish genetics and genomics at INRAE for more than 25 years. He authored more than 110 peer-reviewed papers in fish genetics. Marc will coordinate AQUAEXCEL3.0.
Dr. Jean-Jacques Lareyre is Director of Research at the INRAE Laboratory of Fish Physiology and Genomics in Rennes. He is specialized in male gametes physiology and pioneered Germ Stem Cell grafting in France. He authored more than 55 peer-reviewed articles in fish reproductive physiology. Jean-Jacques will lead WP5.
Laurent Labbé is the Head of the INRAE Experimental fish farm PEIMA, and the manager of the INRAE network of experimental fish farms. He was awarded the 2014 INRA Engineer award for his dedicated management of PEIMA. Laurent will manage Transnational Access in PEIMA and lead Task 3.4 on technician mobility.
